Kurokabe No.1 Building, Kurokabe Glass House

Built in 1900, this quasi-Western-style building is particularly iconic within Kurokabe Square. The museum exhibits and sells a variety of glassware from all over the world, especially from Europe; on the first floor you can see everyday vessels, vases, and accessories, while on the second floor you can see European glassworks and glass vases from Italy, Germany, Austria, and other countries. The store also offers a wide variety of products, including special accessories handmade by artisans, miniature glass animals, glass pens, and glassware and tableware to add color to your dining table. Seasonal displays are also popular. The shop is open from 10:00 to 18:00, and closes at 17:00 from November to March. It is not closed on holidays, but may be closed at the end of the year. Hands-on workshops are also offered.
